Elif T\u00fcrkislamo\u011flu, \u201cT\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin Bat\u0131l\u0131la\u015fma Tarihine \u0130ki Farkl\u0131 Bak\u0131\u015f Niyazi Berkes Cemil Meri\u00e7\u201d isimli kitab\u0131nda tam da bunu yapm\u0131\u015f. Bat\u0131l\u0131la\u015fma meselesini ele al\u0131rken merce\u011fi her ikisinin d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnsel ser\u00fcvenine do\u011fru tutmu\u015f. Tabi bu bak\u0131\u015f bir T\u00fcrkiye tablosu \u00e7\u0131karm\u0131\u015f meydana. Buyurun bir al\u0131nt\u0131 yapal\u0131m kitaptan:&nbsp;<em>\u201c Cemil Meri\u00e7 1975 y\u0131l\u0131nda Terc\u00fcman Gazetesi\u2019ne verdi\u011fi bir r\u00f6portajda d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnce hayat\u0131n\u0131 d\u00f6nemlere ay\u0131rarak bir \u015femas\u0131n\u0131 \u00e7izer. Buna g\u00f6re 1917-1925 aras\u0131 \u2018hac\u0131 hoca\u2019 olmak istedi\u011fi \u2018koyu M\u00fcsl\u00fcmanl\u0131k devri\u2019, 1925-1936 aras\u0131n\u0131 \u2018\u015foven milliyet\u00e7ilik\u2019, 1936-1938 d\u00f6nemini \u2018sosyalist devrim\u2019, 1936-1960 \u2018araf\u2019, 1960-1964 aras\u0131n\u0131 \u2018Hind\u2019 devri, 1964 sonras\u0131n\u0131 ise \u2018sadece Osmanl\u0131y\u0131m\u2019 \u015feklinde anlat\u0131r\u201d&nbsp;<\/em>(syf. 178).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Meri\u00e7\u2019in d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnsel ser\u00fcveni hakikaten ba\u015f d\u00f6nd\u00fcr\u00fcc\u00fcd\u00fcr. Yetmi\u015f bir y\u0131ll\u0131k \u00f6mre b\u00fct\u00fcn bu d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnsel gelgitleri s\u0131\u011fd\u0131rabilmek fazlas\u0131yla gerilimli ve yorucu bir hayat ya\u015famak demektir. Fakat di\u011fer yan\u0131yla hi\u00e7 de yabanc\u0131s\u0131 olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z bir hik\u00e2yedir. Hepimiz, hayat\u0131m\u0131z\u0131n bir d\u00f6neminde koyu M\u00fcsl\u00fcman, sosyalist, milliyet\u00e7i, Osmanl\u0131c\u0131 veya ba\u015fka bir \u015fey olmu\u015f, Meri\u00e7\u2019inkine belki az belki \u00e7ok benzer savrulu\u015flar ge\u00e7irmi\u015fizdir. \u00d6yleyse Meri\u00e7\u2019in hik\u00e2yesi hepimizinkinden bir par\u00e7a ta\u015f\u0131yor denilebilir. Peki ya Berkes? Onun, Meri\u00e7\u2019e g\u00f6re d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncel savrulu\u015fu daha azd\u0131r. Lakin onun hayat\u0131nda da f\u0131rt\u0131na i\u00e7eriden de\u011fil d\u0131\u015far\u0131dan eser. \u00dcniversiteden kovulmas\u0131, yurt d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda yeni bir hayat kurmas\u0131, memleketten uzak da olsa zihninin buralarda olmas\u0131\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kitapta \u0130slamo\u011flu\u2019nun de\u011findi\u011fi hayli ilgin\u00e7 bir nokta vard\u0131r. Berkes\u2019in Londra\u2019daki k\u00fct\u00fcphanesindeki kitaplar\u0131n \u00e7o\u011fu T\u00fcrk\u00e7edir ve kitaplar T\u00fcrkiye ile ilgilidir. Oysa Meri\u00e7\u2019in \u0130stanbul\u2019daki kitapl\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131n bir Frans\u0131z m\u00fcnevverinin kitapl\u0131\u011f\u0131ndan fark\u0131 yoktur. Sadece bu bile do\u011fu ile bat\u0131 aras\u0131ndaki o garip sarka\u00e7ta s\u0131k\u0131\u015fm\u0131\u015f insanlar\u0131n bir \u00f6r\u00fcmcek gibi kendi a\u011flar\u0131n\u0131 kendilerinin \u00f6r\u00fc\u015flerine \u00f6rnek de\u011fil midir? Fakat buna ra\u011fmen kategorize edilirler. Meri\u00e7 tez elden muhafazak\u00e2r olur, Berkes solcu. Oysa bu solculuk denilen \u015fey enternasyonel olmakla ilgili de\u011fil midir? Muhafazak\u00e2r ise al\u0131\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131 de\u011ferleri de\u011fi\u015ftirmeyen adam say\u0131lamaz m\u0131? \u015eayet \u00f6yleyse \u0130stanbul\u2019da Frans\u0131z kitapl\u0131\u011f\u0131 bulunduran m\u0131, yoksa Londra da T\u00fcrk kitapl\u0131\u011f\u0131 bulunduran m\u0131 muhafazak\u00e2rd\u0131r? Neyse bunlar epey kar\u0131\u015f\u0131k i\u015fler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meri\u00e7 ile Berkes\u2019in ba\u015f\u0131na gelen Akif ile Fikret\u2019in de ba\u015f\u0131na gelmemi\u015f midir? Hem de Meri\u00e7 anlatm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r bunun da hik\u00e2yesini. Akif T\u00fcrkiye\u2019de \u201csa\u011f\u201dd\u0131r, Fikret ise \u201csol\u201d. Oysa Akif \u015fiirine toplumsal meseleleri konu edinir, Fikret ise bireysel sorunlar\u0131. O zaman ikincinin sa\u011f, birincinin sol olmas\u0131 gerekmez mi? Yahut b\u00fct\u00fcn kategorileri bir kenara b\u0131rak\u0131p bu adamlar\u0131n yaz\u0131p \u00e7izdikleriyle temas etmek gerekmez mi?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elif T\u00fcrkislamo\u011flu\u2019nun kitab\u0131n\u0131n bize g\u00f6sterdi\u011fi en \u00f6nemli noktan\u0131n bu oldu\u011funu s\u00f6ylemek yanl\u0131\u015f olmaz. Berkes, \u00e7a\u011fda\u015fla\u015fma ad\u0131n\u0131 verdi\u011fi toplumsal d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015f\u00fcm\u00fcn destekleyicisidir. Onun temel derdi gelenek iledir. Gelene\u011fin toplumsal hayat\u0131n her alan\u0131na sinmi\u015f olmas\u0131n\u0131 \u00e7a\u011fda\u015fla\u015fman\u0131n \u00f6n\u00fcndeki b\u00fcy\u00fck engel olarak g\u00f6r\u00fcr. Berkes\u2019in \u00f6nemsedi\u011fi \u00e7a\u011fda\u015fla\u015fma Meri\u00e7 i\u00e7in kaypak bir kelimedir. Berkes\u2019in&nbsp;&nbsp;muzdarip oldu\u011fu gelenek ise Meri\u00e7 i\u00e7in ba\u015f tac\u0131d\u0131r. Peki niye b\u00f6yledir? \u0130\u015fte T\u00fcrkislamo\u011flu kitab\u0131 boyunca bu sorunun pe\u015fine d\u00fc\u015fer.
